Program “From Museum to Children”

The program is designed for elementary, middle and high school students, covering 5 years (an yearly cycle consists of 15 sessions)
The program is based on a step-by-step introduction to the Gatchina Palace, its parks, and the town’s architecture.

“The Mystery of Gatchina Castle” (Treasure Hunt)

A tour combined with a costumed game intended for students in 1-6 grades.
In the course of the game, the participants are received by the Empress Maria Feodorovna, who turns to them for help in solving the castle’s mystery. After seeing the Palace, its state rooms, long corridors and a somber basement, and after finding all clues and performing tasks the young visitors may be lucky enough to resolve the old mystery. They will be rewarded handsomely for their efforts!

Program “Classical Mythology in Art”

Get involved in the program “Classical Mythology in Art” to delve into ancient myths and legends, learn about the Olympian gods and be able to identify their images in the state rooms.

Program “The Court Etiquette”

This program aims to help children discover the rules that guided the behaviour of ladies and gentlemen at court, the meaning of the word “etiquette” and its importance in the present-day world.

Program “Honor and Bravery. Visiting a Knight”

You will be met by Keeper of the castle who will introduce you to its history. The conversation will focus on the notions that are deeply rooted in the ancient past – honor, valor, bravery, trust and love.
The Traveling Knight invites the participants to take part in the tournament of sages. To do this, you will need to walk through the castle, visit the state rooms, exhibition halls, and basement.
The participants will carry out tasks during the tournament with the help from the Keeper and her fascinating story.
Prizes are awarded to those who display bravery, quick mind, teamwork and endurance.
