Karl Fedorovich Baggovut is an iconic figure in Gatchina’s history in the second half of the 19th century. In 2010, we celebrate the 200th anniversary of K.Baggovut, who was the head of Gatchina Palace Estate, a mayor of the town and its first honorary citizen. He was a skillful administrator who cared much about the town and made a valuable contribution in the town’s improvement and development.
The exhibition represents an installation of an official’s study dating from the second half of the 19th century. Pieces of furniture and interior design and artefacts are all period objects drawn from the Gatchina palace’s reserves to reflect the era.
