The Palace of two Emperors Tour: Paul I and Alexander III
Throughout its existence, Gatchina Palace has been twice the heart of Russia and the focal point of its politics and social life. This occurred for the first time in the late 18th century under Paul I, the second time being in Alexander III’s reign a century later. The Palace can be seen as a kind of monument to these two Russian emperors.
