A unique carved icon to be transferred to the Gatchina Palace's Chapel

The unique carved icon The Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Mother of God, presented to Emperor Alexander III, will be transferred from the museum’s holdings to the Chapel of the Gatchina Palace on December 4, for a single day only. It is the first time since the coup d'etat of 1917 that the relic is to be exhibited for worshipping. A religious liturgy and thanksgiving service will be conducted in the Palace Chapel to mark the occasion.
