Admiralty Gate
The monumental Admiralty Gate of Pudost limestone serves as the main entrance to the Palace Park. The gate took its name from the Admiralty located nearby. The design for the gate was probably developed by Vincenzo Brenna. Drawing on classical antiquity, the architect created an arch surmounted with a triangle pediment and decorated with paired Corinthian columns; a wrought iron gate was produced at the Izhorsky factory in 1796.
