Octagonal Well

âîñüìèãðàííûé êîëîäåö.jpg

This creatively shaped well lies close to the Carp Pond and the Silver Lake. The spring, which gushed clean water, was framed in granite in the 18th century. Modern researchers attribute its design to Antonio Rinaldi, as the Octagonal Well combines classical and baroque elements in a composition that the master favored.

The well is rather small and not particularly important to the park landscape, but its exquisite shape and unique design continue to lure visitors.
